Meryl Streep – 1949
Three-time Oscar-winning Hollywood legend Mary Louise “Meryl” Streep is perhaps one of the greatest living actresses of our time. The American icon is renowned and revered for her commanding, larger-than-life performances in front of the camera.
Before reaching the top step of fame and success, Meryl worked as a waitress in a bed-and-breakfast in Somerville. During her earlier years, she was more inclined towards the opera but eventually made her film debut in 1977’s The Deadliest Season. Her most popular acting credits include, but are not limited to, The Devil Wears Prada, Julie & Julia, and Sophie’s Choice. She is set to star in Don’t Look Up alongside Leonardo Dicaprio inĀ 2021.
